Celebrating our 23rd year of Music Lessons and Theater Camps in Chicago. Thank you!
Musical Chairs is excited to offer a trial program for Private Instrument Lessons this fall at St. Matthias School. Lessons are taught by one our of experienced and professional staff. Limited spots are available on Wednesdays for piano, guitar, voice and ukulele.
Private lessons are customized to blend with each student's learning style. Private lesson students benefit from our individualized approach to music instruction, regular recital performances as well as opportunities to volunteer and mentor younger students for our more advanced students.
Success with weekly private lessons is highly dependent on regular, consistent home practice. Guitar and Ukulele students will be required to bring their own instrument to school. Piano students should have a keyboard or piano at home for practice.
Weekly 30-minute lessons are packaged for an 11-week session from Sept 9th -Nov 18. Cancelations made with 24 hour notice will be offered a makeup lesson at our 2124 W Lawrence studios. Makeup lessons are not available at St. Matthias.

Piano, and Voice: Libby teaches beginner to upper intermediate piano as well as beginner to professional level voice. Libby’s early musical experiences originate in early childhood.
In her adolescence she performed in numerous Opera Theatre of St Louis productions in child casting roles. At just age 10, she started private piano lessons at her instructor Ginny’s home and continued through age 18. In her high school years, she went on to take private Webster University voice lessons through Opera Theater of St Louis’s audition based Artists in Training program. In this program she received scholarships, master classes, and free college level voice instruction.
Libby went on to further her education at Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Music. There she took courses in composition, vocal technique, extensive theory courses, and continued private voice. She has performed live countless times but finds her most meaningful experiences in music to be through teaching.
Libby has a student first approach that harnesses a positive association with music education as the overall goal. Libby’s appreciation for her private voice and piano growing up led her to a career as a music teacher.
