Thank you to the 47th Ward and Alderman Matt Martin for Arts & Culture Grant. Music and Theater enrichment was offered to children approved through the Alderman's Office. We were thrilled to expand our programming to be more inclusive of children throughout the community this summer.
Musical Chairs is Chicago's licensed Boutique School for music, theater and art in Lincoln Square. Our mission fosters a love for the arts, provides an outlet for creative expression and builds self-confidence while focusing on the learning style of each individual student.
Our breadth of professional teaching resources offers arts education beginning at age 4 through advanced levels in high school and adulthood. Our instruction evolves with every student's interests throughout their tenure with Musical Chairs.
We offer lessons for children and adults in nearly every instrument, group programming, theater, art classes, and our unique Step the Beat and Mini Maestros program for early childhood. Groups of 4+ students are invited to create their own class/program.
New students for private lessons are accepted on a rolling basis. Registration for group classes are by session. In-person and virtual lessons are both offered based on student / instructor preferences and availability.

As part of our private music instruction, students can participate in numerous performance opportunities (dependent on Covid19 restrictions) including Open Mic Nights at Borelli's Pizzeria, Recitals, and Zoom virtual "Music Shares".
Musical Chairs believes performing is an important part of music education as it builds self-confidence together with demonstrating the importance of sharing one's gifts with the community. All performance opportunities are with a non-stressful, supportive, and nurturing approach.
We believe in fostering community engagement in our students. Musical Chairs creates opportunities for students to share with their community. Through our Serenading Seniors program, we perform for senior living communities both in person (when restrictions allow) and through video platform.
We encouraging leadership development by awarding our high school students mentorship and leadership training opportunities through our Play it Forward and Practice Buddies programs.
