Celebrating our 23rd year of Music Lessons and Theater Camps in Chicago. Thank you!
Musical Chairs Studio is dedicated to nurturing creativity and a lifelong love of music. Our Group Guitar class is a great fit for beginning guitarists who want to explore music in a collaborative, supportive setting — learning the basics of guitar while connecting with fellow young musicians.
Students will learn to read guitar chords and master basic strumming patterns, then apply those skills to popular songs they enjoy — making the learning process both fun and relevant.
Class size is capped at just 5 students, so each participant gets personalized instruction and can progress at their own pace in a comfortable, expressive environment.
We invite families to enroll their aspiring guitarists and join our community-oriented approach to music education. Sign up today and let the musical journey begin!

Victor Marin, a graduate of McPherson Elementary School, is a classical guitarist and teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching in both Spanish and English. Born in Mexico City, he immigrated to Chicago in 1974.
His love for the guitar began in 1985, when he started lessons in the 8th grade at the People’s Music School. After four years of study, he became the school’s first student to transition into a teaching role, working under founder and executive director Dr. Rita Simo.
Along with teaching at Musical Chairs, Victor also works with students at Linne Elementary, the Maywood Fine Arts Center, and the Northeastern Illinois University Community School. He teaches students from age five through adulthood and has experience across classical, jazz, rock, and popular styles.
Victor’s goal as a teacher is to provide students with a strong musical foundation, including music reading, proper right- and left-hand technique through scales, arpeggios, and chords, as well as theory and harmony—skills that support a lifelong enjoyment of playing the guitar.
